Thai AirAsia Children Flying Alone Policy
Children under the age of 12 (Unaccompanied Minors) are not permitted to travel alone on AirAsia flights unless accompanied by an individual who is at least 18 years old on the day of departure. Children must be seated adjacent to the accompanying adult with whom they are traveling.
Young Passengers Traveling Alone (YPTA)
Children aged 12 to under 16 years old on the day of departure are classified as
Young Passengers Traveling Alone (YPTA).
Airport Handling for YPTA:
- Children will only be accepted for travel after their parents or guardians
have completed the AirAsia Release and Indemnity Form for Acceptance of YPTA,
available at the check-in counter.
- Parents or guardians must remain at the airport until the flight has departed
to ensure that the child is not left unattended in the event of flight delays or
cancellations.
- Pre-boarding or meet-and-assist service will be provided.
Please note:
A YPTA is not considered an adult and cannot accompany children under 12 years
old.
Guests under 18 years old:
Guests aged 16 to 17 years old on the day of departure may travel without
completing any forms and will be treated as adults. However, they are not
permitted to accompany a child under 12 years old.
