Nan Nakhon Airport
Nan Nakhon Airport, formerly known as Nan Airport (IATA: NNT, ICAO: VTCN),
serves as the primary air transportation hub for Nan, the capital city of
Nan Province, Thailand. In 2014, a new terminal was constructed along
Airport Road, replacing the previous terminal. Despite the upgrade, the
airport continues to utilize the existing runways for flight operations.
Upon arrival or departure, passengers at Nan Nakhon Airport are required to
walk to either the terminal or the aircraft, as no ramps are available for
direct access. This pedestrian-friendly setup adds a unique touch to the
travel experience, allowing passengers to soak in the local atmosphere as
they make their way to or from their flights.
Situated at an elevation of 685 feet (209 meters) above mean sea level, Nan
Nakhon Airport features a single runway designated as 02/20. The runway is
paved with asphalt and measures 6,562 feet (2,000 meters) in length,
accommodating various aircraft sizes and operations.
Despite its smaller size and simpler facilities, Nan Nakhon Airport serves
as an important transportation link for Nan Province, providing essential
air connectivity to the region. Its convenient location and functional
infrastructure contribute to the accessibility and development of Nan and
its surrounding areas.
Nok Air and
Thai AirAsia provide schedule commercial flights
from this airport to Bangkok-Don Mueang.
